SCHOLARSHIP REPORT FOR 2025 ACADEMIC YEAR

by Francisca Amoako and Sophia Dauda. Administrators

It is the end of another school year and we are grateful for all the good things that happened to us. We also pray for good health of mind and body for us all in the coming year. Economically, things have not changed, although in Ghana inflation stands at 11.5%, cost of food and transport has not gone down. I guess we all have to understand that the world is not growing any younger, an increase in population is also having a great impact on it. We had enough funds for tuition fees, accommodation and book allowance in the year, although I must say tertiary institutions have increased tuition fees substantially. We should complete the admission process by mid November when we have received completed applications from the applicants. Our plan is to meet the parents of the applicants as well.

Graduating Students this year include the following: Khadija S graduates with a BSc in communication studies; Salimu Y graduates with a BSc in Information Technology; Vivian N and Juliet A graduate with Diplomas in Basic Education; Agnes C graduates with a Bachelor in English Education and Abigail D graduates with a Diploma in general nursing. New Applications: This year we have had 14 applications so far of which 10 have been reviewed. Out of the 10 reviewed, we are considering six (6) of them. We are yet to have a meeting to review the other four. Universities are still issuing admissions and I am sure more applications will be received in November. No fees has been paid for any new entrant yet. In the coming weeks, we shall finalize all processes to enable us to pay for those that are due.

Status update: Most of our ladies are doing well especially those working. We have recently been notified through status updates shared by ladies. The updates reveal progress in terms of employment and education among the ladies. Notably; Rahinatu M is in charge of monitoring and evaluation with Corps Africa/Ghana; Theresah G serves as a pharmacist in Rafchik clinic in Sunyani; Charity L now has a Bachelor degree in Education and actively employed by the government of Ghana; Ernestina T-Z has enrolled for a master's degree and has secured scholarship from KAAD; Alimatu M now teaches in a SHS in Bamboi in the Savannah Region; Elizabeth S serves as a nurse in Bole; Mavis B-I works at a private clinic in Kumasi and Rashida E serves as a nurse in Bole as well. We pray more of our ladies will be posted or engaged by the government as most of them are awaiting this opportunity.

Once again, on behalf of our sisters, we wish to express our profound gratitude to for the support. With your kind hearts and generosity, you have created stars in families and these stars are changing the stories of their families and communities in their own ways. We are so grateful for your generosity.
